Bunclody hosted Forth this morning in bright sunshine on a fabulous surface. Forth started at pace and almost scored after 5 mins when a shot from Justin beat the keeper but was cleared off the line. Bunclody came into the game more and played quite direct football with the sun directly into the eyes of our center halfs. After soaking up some pressure forth broke from their own penalty area and a well placed shot from Alfie could only be usher out to Mark who finished clinically. Goal number 2 came from a whipped corner where James rose highest to head home. Bunclody weren’t done yet however and a cracking 25 mt effort off the crossbar deserved more. 3rd goal after 35 mins fell to Leo who finished smartly following a wicked delivery from Justin. Bunclody were stung by the goals and finished the half strongly by stealing the ball from us and feeding in their right winger for a clinical finish.

Wise words from the coaching team about not conceding early were obviously heeded when Bunclody made it 3-2 straight from the kick off. We introduced Charlie and Mica on the left and they settled the nerves. A sweeping move down the left and switched out to Aaron in space and he rifled the ball over the keeper . ( he swears he meant it ). Mark made it 5 when he rose highest to flick a beautiful header to the net. If there was any doubt over Aaron’s first strike there could be none about his second when he smashed a pile driver to the roof of the net from 30 yards. The lucky 7th came shortly after and it deservedly fell to the tireless Justin who finished smartly at the back post.

The scoreboard somewhat flattered forth as bunclody are a serious team and will trouble many teams but the finishing today from the lads was clinical and positions them well in the league.
